Matt the Brum Very poor race prep but felt ok on the line. Went off a bit too fast, and although legs were comfortable my stomach was complaining. At 20 miles hamstrings had started cramping so just took it steady for the remaining 15. Finished 3rd in 3:56:20.
Great race for all abilities. Stourbridge RC 3:56:20 3:56:20 3:56:20 73.67

flanker Mixed run for me. My knee was niggling from about 5 miles and really started playing me up at about 18. But still blew the mara PB out of the water before deciding to ease of slighly for the last 9. 5:48:38 at the finish. Could have gone sub 5:45, but decided I'd rather run/walk/natter with a clubmate for the last 4.

Generally happy, but there might just be a sub 5 waiting to get out for next year!

Why didn't I think to take the ibus at 18 rather than wait to 30?!!

Toks No idea of how long it is going to take me to finish this but am guessing 8.00hrs. Being my first i just want to enjoy it!! UPDATE EVERYONE!!!!am soooooooooooooooo chuffed to have completed my ultra marathon in one piece, it was a challenge and a half. Started off with PH and we ran 10 miles together b4 we got separated. Manage to run/walk till the 28 miles and then every inch of my body seems to hurt even my toenails. by the 30th mile, i couldn't run anymore i just had to power walk the remaining 5 miles and feel so grateful that a few race organisers waited for us to give us our goody bags, when i got to the end, i just wanted to lie down anywhere and sleep, i was soooooooooo cold, tired and out of it. don't even know how i got home. my friend flying high forced me to eat a banana and drink lucozade to recover but i was soooo shattered.

I love the scenery, the other runners were very encouraging and the people walking or cycling made it a fantastic race for me, not forgetting meeting fellow fetchies is always amazing!! the only thing i would change is to start this race much earlier so that we can finish in broad daylight, I DON'T LIKE RUNNING WHEN IT IS DARK PLEASE!! This all i have at the moment!!

I feel like having an OSCAR moment like haile berry, i would like to thank so many people for their incredible support in my completing this event. i would like to thank mr toks for looking after the little ones so that i can go and run this race, even though my little ones were unwell just as i was about to leave them on saturday, he did a fantastic job :-)

My Sister Tem, i kept calling her everytime i reach 10th/20th/30th/last mile for encouragement and talking to her, She kept me going and telling that i can do it, even though i didn't know how!!

The race is dedicated to my late friend sandra for her inspiration and courage for not quiting till the end, i would always admire that and use it to carrying on running from strength to strength, i can't thank you enough :-)

PH - very inspirational for running the forst 6 miles without stopping even though she had not much training in the last couple of weeks due to injury, truly inspirational in my book, my hat is off to her.

Flying high, for waiting for me till the finish and encouraging me to hydrate, even though i was soooo shattered to eat, i just wanted to lie down anywhere.

one of the race organisers took me to the station, thank you so much for the lift (can't remember his name)

to all my fellow fetchies on the course and at home encouraging that i can do this and complete, thanks for the fetchmails, the texts, the phone calls, am truly inspired by all of you :-)

micknphil and a blind runner running, was just soooo inspired everytime they pass me on the course, my hat is soooo off to them, if they can do it, anyone can, well done guys.

To anyone else i might have leave out of this VOTE OF THANKS, thank you so much, you all made my dream a REALITY, for that this i would be eternally GRATEFUL :-) FERC 8:28:10 8:28:10 8:00:00 8:28:10 37.58
