agc Think I could have done improved on the time if I'd prepared a bit better.
Good start and first half, averaging ~ 6:55 / mile. Slowed down 2nd half especially over the 'Green Way' - into the wind and fine grit underfoot for much of the way; I could feel my shoes slipping backwards slightly. Unaffiliated 1:30:27 1:32:09 1:32:09 70.52
stato, rob i was a bit worried it would be hot for the race so had spent the previous week or so running in four jumpers and two pairs of tracksters sweating my balls off . It turned out to be perfect running conditions !! Kenilworth Runners 1:22:35 1:23:08 1:24:00 1:23:08 69.74

Leg End Set out to pace Wayne (doing marathon) at 9 m/m. Achieved exactly that to 11.5 m split. Then ran mile 13 at 7:22!! Great run for me. Mike too (PB of 1:33:??), OK for Sally (2:2?:??) - nasty Mortons neuroma pain in foot. Wayne, desparate for sub-4, crashed at 17 m with severe cramps in quads and did 4:25:?? Very disappointed... Crash Hamster Plan is to set a new 1/2M PB...only the heat and lack of a proper taper may mess it up...

I had a feeling I had something a bit special (by my own low standards) in me. Big PB! Nice to meet Garr and Cath at the race, plus the usual Worcester crew of Ant, Matt and Ro. If you really want to listen to the self-congratulatory burblings of an overexcited hamster, then I'll blog it... Pirate Ship Of Fools 1:34:11 1:39:42 1:49:00 1:39:42 60.43

Flying Ant The original plan was to just beat last years best of 1:45, but after 4 miles my average was under 7:50/mile so the possibility of a pb was on. From then on my average only varied between 7:37 and 7:39 per mile. Lost my chance to do sub 1:40 when at 11.5 miles I got cramp in the left calf and then during the run along through the park I got cramp in my right so had to settle for a pb drop of 1:26 instead. ellew A PB with is fantastic - but god it hurts. I'm still aching 3 days later.Ran a really fast first 10k in 53 minutes, but then struggled between 7 and 10 miles. Pacing was completely out. I wouldn't say the course was flat as I had been told. More undulating really. Marshalls were excellent, even the commentator at the beginning who told us over the tannoy 'Obey the marshalls, they know more than you' in a 1984 stylee. An amazing number of water stations. Very costly race for a medal and a banana though - where was the goody bag??? Unaffiliated 1:54:50 1:55:18 1:58:57 54.26
Seagrave Started to get trouble from my knee within 2-3 miles. Fought through it was going well until mile 6 where the heat and complete lack of training for 5 weeks started to take its toll. Fought on through but an increasing slow pace. Got overtaken by my friend Mark, but then got a second wind at mile 12 and overtook him again with about 1/2 a mile to go (muhaha). Was a bit disappointed with time but given circumstances was acceptable, resultant knee injury put me out of any kind of running for 4-6 weeks. Iron Squishy Nobody bet on this - it won't be a PB for me, strictly a training run on HR!

Watch time, don't know official chip time yet but will amend when I do. Felt good all the way round, wanted to keep HR nice and steady between 145-155 - smack on 150!! 10.05 min miles which was about right. Quite disappointed to finish really, felt I could have carried on. Wished I'd been able to do the full mara again this year. Temperature about right - not too hot this year and a nice breeze. Nice 'training' run for me, with lots of company and water stations :-) Pirate Ship Of Fools 2:07:00 2:12:12 2:30:00 2:12:12 50.39
Jason1969 When I started training, I would have been happy with 10 minute pace, but as the weeks went by, I realised that 10 minute pace was actually quite easy! Started nice and slow, but spent too long at an easy pace. Blimey, I could have been quicker! Great run, great weather, not enough toilets! Unaffiliated 1:57:26 1:57:26 2:00:00 1:57:58 49.79

woss No training, no watch. Deserved to feel terrible and I did for last five miles. Not helped by very, very sore left foot (usual problem: morton's neuroma). LOTS of ibuprofen during and after race: tablets and gel and a good helping of arnica, but it's still sore eight hours later... Purple Patch Runners 2:10:52 2:17:00 2:23:21 45.17
