JackL Weather wasn't as bad as expected. In fact though I probably didn't do enough training for this it went really well. Finishing was the main goal and anything under 2 hours a bonus. Luckily I ran all the way with Paul. Rayleigh RAT Runners 1:25:15 1:35:38 1:54:46 51.75

BigEvilC hoping for PB on flattish course after TW and Hastings earlier this year, but training tapered off after FLM. update Quite hot and muggy but not so hilly apart from the last slow hill at the end (not too bad but seemed so at the time) . Happy to get new PB but chip timing despite being given a chip seems none existent .This is my watch time as it too a little time to corss the start (I was expecting chip time). The gun time was 1.38.51. Not sure of ettiquette for this but watch time is more accurate! Kent AC 1:29:12 1:34:38 1:39:59 1:38:33 62.14

SUPERWOMAN63 Yeah yeah l also entered this race before l ran the marathon because l thought l would be able to do this not easily but easier and yes l was wrong AGAIN. I actually contemplated pulling out of this race after all l had done a marathon ( yeah yeah get over it ) and was only doing this race for me and not for charity ( but did make a donation to Fairhavens ) BUT as l have got older l try and make the most of each day and decided to try and get around as best as l could if l can't jog then walk and if l can't walk then crawl l was also thinking of the medal !! ( doesn't everyone ? ) probably not but it's a great incentive for me l like Southend anyway and it was ANOTHER bright, sunny day , let's just skip to mile 12 l was sure the road was going uphill and l was feeling a bit k****ered and hot , l decided to walk but it was harder to walk than run so l continued to jog at a very slow pace ( my usual ) finally got to the line and l felt relief as l finished . After a drink and a general walk around l felt okay and was pleased that l managed to complete the race, there were loads of people around and it was a lovely day. I had my fish and chips whilst sitting on the sea wall and then made my way home. I was very smug to read other runners reviews of the race about the hilly bit at mile 12, what a relief it wasn't just me struggling. Unaffiliated 2:17:00 2:17:00 2:30:00 2:23:49 47.29
