Been running on and off (hmm, mainly off) since 2006. Wanted to run a 5k race for life, which progressed to wanting to run a half marathon, which progressed to running several half marathons and a desire to run London.
After some time off, I got back into running a year ago (early 2011) and all was going well, comfortably running 10k, until I broke my wrist skiing which put me on the bench. Whilst recovering from that and the subsequent operations, I also managed to dislocate my right knee several times. After recovering from all that, I ran the London Marathon in 2013, however picked up a hip injury two weeks before which has resulted in me having to have 4 operations on my right leg over the course of the past year (it's now July 2014 and I had my last op a week ago). I am now hoping to start up again, and have a place for London 2015, with the simple aim of getting around if at all possible as my target!
