After coming from a running background and growing up watching my dad race for Ilford AC week after week I decided to re-join Dagenham 88 Runners in 2006 after not running for a good few years, I then completed The London Marathon in 2006 in 4:33:30, which was a real achievement for me and in 2009 I was very happy to finish the FLM in 4:21:07, but now of course I am chasing a dream of breaking 4 hours!. After my first marathon I had a break until April 2008 when I started training again, which was hard at first as I had some weight to shift! (..and still do!), but it helped as there are so many different people/groups to train with at the club. We now have a really good group who encourage each other in training and races. There is plenty of friendly banter between us all (...which I love!) and we meet up on social events throughout the year and enter many races, including challenges such as The Beachy Head Marathon.
I have just started training again in March 2012 following a years break to have a baby.
