Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker. I understand. No-one likes ads.

But our site costs money to operate, and I need to eat.

Please consider enabling ads for our website, or making a voluntary donation. If you donate, I can turn off the ads for you for a period of time. Average donations are about £3.50 per month, so a tenner would give you three months ad free.

Here's a link to our donation info.

Thanks,

About Me

In January 2012, I was a 19st 5lb smoker who decided enough was enough and to I needed to sort myself out.

I started losing weight by eating well, and doing long walks which got faster and faster. In August 2013 I was walking so fast, I felt I just wanted to start running, so I did.

I needed a target. I had a really good friend who was blind, and gave up running to have a family. I decided it would be good to also get her back running so I started taking her out for gentle jogs.

Our first race was the Gerald Storey 8k in December 2013. We targeted loads of 10k races and to run the 2014 GNR. She has done it many times and has a PB of 2hrs 12. Through training, we have improved every PB she has set over the last 30 years, and we will do the same at GNR Fingers crossed.

I really enjoy running as a visually impaired guide for my friend, ensuring I am always one step ahead of her so she can always run to her potential. We have a very healthy competition between us that always pushes me to go faster.

Over the coming year I will be working on my own PBs to build my individual records, whist helping my blind friend further improve on hers.
