Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What's the biggest challenge that awaits you?
Race to the Stones next July! First day only - 50k - quite far enough for a first ultra.

What's your favourite thing about Fetcheveryone?
All my training is here, since 2007. I’m not as chatty here as I used to be but still follow a few old friends.

How do you pick yourself up when you need to?
I go for a run of course.

What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers?
Bikers and swimmers I’ve no idea as I’m not either of those things. New runners: slow down, you move too fast, got to make the morning last.

About Me

Started running when I was 50 with Race for Life and eventually became hooked. Done quite a lot of marathons and things. Got injured in 2014 and had a fairly major operation on my hip in March 2015, unfortunately unsuccessful. Had a full hip replacement at the end of October 2016 and am now running again, racing and doing all the things I used to do, albeit a little slower! Gawd bless the NHS I say. Joined Chorlton Runners in 2017 and have just done two years on the Committee. Done with that now though! Its a very supportive club however and I love it.
