Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

I am fundraising for Dyslexia Action

I am aunty to some amazing dyslexic boys. I have seen some of the struggles they and their parents have been through - from early childhood right through to adulthood.
As a trainee teacher (specialising in Early Years) I hope to be able to teach in a way that supports ALL learners and allows every child to have a positive learning disposition. Children with unidentified and/or unsupported dyslexia can suffer in all areas of their education and this should not be allowed to happen. This can result in low self esteem and can lead to depression (even in little ones).
One of the many things Dyslexia Action provide is specialist training and support for teachers.
Dyslexia is a hidden (as in not visible) disability. As with many special educational needs, it is tough to get it fully recognised and supported.

Dyslexics need to be identified, supported and taught appropriately in order to release their talents (which can be very many - think Albert Einstein, Leonardo daVinci etc etc).
