About Me

In November 2010 I was invited by a very good marathon runner friend of mine to participate in the Virgin Active London Triathlon which was to take place the following year (31 July 2011). At that time I had never ran competitvely and was less than poor at both swimming and cycling. I decided to take on the challenge for Cancer Research and started running competitvely as part of my training in February 2011 with my first timed 5k run. Since then I have never looked back!

PBs for 2011 were as follows:

5k: 20 mins 24 sec
10k: 42 mins 17 sec

The triathlon took me around 3hrs 30 mins largely due to my poor ability on the bike and if I was to do a full olympic distance triathlon again with training I would aim for around 3hrs and 05 mins.

Targets for 2012 were as follows:

5k: 19 mins 59 sec
10k: 40 mins 59 sec
Half Mara: to complete one this year and set a PB

This didn't quite go to plan. However, I have signed up for the Edinburgh marathon taking place on 25 May 2014 after my brother bullied me into it (I never seem to sign up to these things on my own accord!). Training to start Jan 2014!
