About Me

I’m new to running, started May 2010 when I started training for the 2011 London Marathon. Just been introduced to this site (thanks Ian) and I think it's great.
My training so far has been a bit of a mess, mainly due to lack of knowledge, which is slowly increasing thanks to runners world and the web. I first started with some run/walk training, but then moved on to a 6 mile run far too quickly, and got really sore a shins (SHIN-SPLINTS) which I thought was normal. Just sore due to the new level of exercise, so I carried on until it got too sore to run, even walking was an effort. This has continued at varying degrees all the way through. If only I had known then what damage I was doing, I could have saved myself a lot of missed training and frustration.
In spite of that, I’m really starting to love running, something I never thought I would. I don’t think this will be my last marathon. That’s as long as I survive this one, lol. I’m trying to raise money for the BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION, please take a look justgiving.com
