48 year old male, started running to get fit to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol about 3 years ago. I run about 8-12 miles per week (if no long run is planned) and also do some cycling - commuting and MTB challenges/ fun rides. Won the 2010 Three Towers Hike - 70km in 11hrs 22 mins, but not a real running race... Did my first trail marathon in September 2010 (Farnham Pilgrim) in 4.5hrs (600m climbing) which was hard!!! Just completed the 2011 Country to Capital ultra race in 9 hrs 39.30 mins, but picked up a stress fracture as a result of the training for it the previous 2 weeks... Had to stop running entirely for about 3 months.
Fell off my mountain bike on 6th August in the Chiltern Hills - concussion. Will have to take it easy for a couple of weeks. Must learn to ride better...
