About Me

I started running about 2 years ago while in Sydney on a career break. I found I'd been eating and drinking a lot more than usual. I decided it was either time to cut down on the beer and pies or take up a sport... and here I am.

My initial goal was to run a 5k which I've now done. Then, when I got back to London, some 10Ks, I've done quite a few now - the first in 53 mins, the second in 51, I'd like to get down to sub 50 which I haven't managed yet!

I ran Brighton Half Marathon in February 2011 and finished in 1hr 53mins which I was pleasantly surprised with as I'd been aiming for around 2 hours but then was out with shin splints for a few months. I've been back running since then taking time to get the right shoes/orthotics and a better post run recovery strategy. I've even started some core work through boxercise and pilates which I'm really enjoying!

I've signed up for the Edinburgh Marathon and Rock and Roll Half Marathon this year ... what was I thinking??!
