About Me
I started running as a teenager to help improve my stamina for thai boxing some 20+ years ago. Then I found that I liked running a lot more than being hit, kicked, elbowed, kneed and sometimes nutted, so stopped boxing and kept running, with a brief, bookish interlude for university and a couple of breaks for nasty injuries later on. In my late 20s I ran relatively fast but stupidly did no races so could set no official PBs, but back in those days I could do 10k in 38 mins which I doubt I'll manage again. In between times I had kids and got fat, then lost the weight and am now well into my comeback, enjoying myself and running with North Shields Polytechnic AC. 5k to half marathon is probably what I'm built for, given my repeated lack of success in getting under 4 hours in the marathon, but I'll keep on at them until I do.
