About Me
At age 11 I took up track training and belonged to a small group coached by Frank Silver in my home town of Loughton, Essex. This took me to PBs on the track at age 18 and it has been downhill ever since! However, I did manage running X-country seasons whilst a student, first at Exeter University, then at King’s College London. Since my student days I have run on and off (mostly off) until Nov 2004 when I had knee surgery to repair a tear in my lateral meniscus. The surgeon suggested to give up running altogether, but my physiotherapist was more upbeat and suggested I might try running on non-consecutive days. As a result in Feb 2006 I joined Hermitage Harriers, with the aim of seeing how well I could do racing at 10K whilst running no more than 3 times a week.
