About Me
runner with something to prove. used to run competitively when 18, running two marathons, winning a couple of local 10ks and a triathlon.Due to a two year pro football career and the odd local league/5 a side match, running took a back burner. In January 2005 I tore my cruciate ligament during a 11 a side match. 6 weeks on crutches I started to run to try to get fit again. My knee was never the same and in march 2006 gave up the football for a while.
in January 2007 I decided to run the Sheffield 1/2 marathon.1hr 59min on a hot may day was a respectable time. In September 07, I ran the Great Yorkshire run 07 in 46mins and realized I loved running in races. In October 2007, I joined Hallamshire Harriers AC and was bitten by the running bug again. My mileage has gone up & my PBs keep coming down.
I have now decided to hang up my football boots and concentrate on my running.

easiest 5k PB by 5sec in 18.10. sub 18min has to be in the tank when legs aren't marathon fresh
