Describe your ideal run, ride or swim.
5k, preferably fairly flat, or 10k, but can do hills if required. I have only gone as far as a half marathon once (self supported, virtual). Also love muddy or rainy runs particularly in winter... feels like more of an achievement!

How do you pick yourself up when you need to?
Get that kit on and get out there! I’ve had lots of thinking to do after a major relationship issue, running is great thinking time. I run somewhere nice, share a photo online, might brighten someone’s day. Try to be happy by making others happy.

What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers?
Just get out there and enjoy yourself. Don’t stress about your time, tracker data and so on. Start slow, keep a regular schedule, and set yourself easy targets.
