Notes & Comments

Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon. Got there around 10am then had to wait until noon in the cold and wind for the start. Really windy at the start and it got worse during the race - brutal wind against between miles 8 and 10. Stayed with the 1:30 pacer pack through 8 miles but then got detached and had to run into the wind on my own for next two miles. At 10 miles (68:03) i knew i wouldn't break 1:30 running outside a group into the wind, and totally knackered, so just jogged the rest of the way.

Splits:
Miles 1 to 8: 6:46, 6:42, 6:40, 6:40, 6:47, 6:46, 6:49, 6:47 - all going to plan - running in the group but getting increasingly tired as so windy. Lost Izzy at 3 miles.

Miles 9 to 10: 7:04, 7:02 - got detached from group when i grabbed a drink at water station. Then had to run into a brutal headwind for 2 miles on my own. Working harder than previously miles but going slower.

Miles 11 to 13: 7:20, 7:24, 7:14 - Had enough, wind gale force against so decided to wait for Izzy / jog for home - HR dropped into Zone 4.
