From about late July I knew this was never going to be a PB race - and the subsequent months of low mileage reinforced that. So I was happy just to trot round today and see what happened. No grumbles about the resulting time - and felt quite strong at the end.
Other meaningless stats:
- My shortest race this year
- Pretty much the same pace I ran the Halstead marathon last year
- It brings my average race distance for this year down to a mere 38 miles
- First race I haven't walked a little in since the Tarpley 10 in Feb 2012.

Off the miles you have done I could get nowhere near that time! Good going.
Thanks MrD. I'm still chuckling at Meerkat's predictions on the BAC forum. He's obviously not been following my training (or, perhaps, yours...)
"to just trot round" very impressive off your reent mileage
Definitely a solid run off so few miles, and just serves to reinforce my last point.
