Notes & Comments

That was a brutal hill at 3 miles. Just when you thought you'd got your breath back, there was a long grind from 4-6 miles. The downhill bits were too steep for us to really benefit but the last 3 were reasonably flat. Hard route overall though. I felt good although my usual tactic of starting near the front on non-chipped races meant that I got overtaken by nearly the whole field by mile 5. Held my own from there on in though and even managed to take a few people back over the last couple of miles. Heard a cheeky wee sprinter closing in with 200 to go and I am proud to say I rose to the challenge and saw him off. He should have come over after but must have been too gutted! Pleased with the time which is a pb as this is really my 10 mile debut.
