Ashby 20. Great run! 1 BRIEF niggle in left knee: GOOD! No problems with feet (apart from small blisters only noticeable when I got out of the bath, heehee!): GOOD! No brick wall: GOOODDD! A tiny bit dehydrated: my fault; didn't listen to uncle Ron and uncle Tim: drink, drink, drink! Still, good! Run on my own all the way; nobody to tagged along: no problems - found lots of beautiful metaphores about life I'll add to my bestseller - if I ever write it! Started slow - I thought, but at every mile I realised it wasn't slow enough, and wasn't sure whether to panic or to carry on as it felt a very comf pace. Of course, I slowed down on 2nd half, so I need to try to start even slower. The only problem I had was right hip: already when I woke up felt tight, despite the stretches. However, it never stepped up to be a problem: GOOODDD! All in all a very possitive race with an unexpected time!! Thanks everyone for your support! :). Good habit need not to mess at the marathon: 1-2 sips of water at each mile marker; it seems to be the right amount. Not sure yet about energy intake: had 1 gel pre-race and another at 13miles; at 10mi had a few sips of isotonic drink (and a bit of choccie - oopss!). Should the energy intake be planned or just take it when you feel you are running low?
