Notes & Comments

Raced Edinburgh Marathon for the 4th year running, my 6th marathon overall but 2nd is just 4 weeks. I knew I had the odds against me on this one. Set off at a target pace of 6:50 which went well for the first half of the race. But after a very humid start I started to feel a struggle at mile 14 so made a hard decision to hang fire and wait for Paul and help him in. I could go on all day with possible excuses and what ifs but I think the jist of it all is 2 effort marathons in the space of 4 weeks is too much for me. Very disappointed not to have got my GFA time from this race but on the positive I helped Paul to get a new pb. Loved this race again, another great weekend.
