Great Race at the Canterbury 10k with Luke. Lots of supporters, with Amber, Lauren, Jan, Mum and Dad all making it to see us.

The course was flat and there were fears of snow and winds. Thankfully the snow did not arrive and the winds were much weaker than expected.

It was an out and back route and so we were into the wind on the way out but had it on our backs on the return. I managed to shelter behind other runners on the way out as I moved slowly up through the field.

I saw Luke after about 4.5km and he was looking great but having to run solo. I told him he was top 20 but it turns out he finished 12th and didn't get chicked.

My race went to plan going out between 4:35-4:40 pace and when I turned back for home and the wind died down I managed to push on and so was running more like 4:25 pace back to race HQ.

Not the fastest 10k I've ever done but very satisfying and a big negative split. This and Silverstone have definately given me something to build on, particuarly at the shorter race distances.
