Very very pleased to PB today, as going in to the race did not feel at all confident - had backed off the training in the last few weeks due to a sore knee, and felt I hadn't done the same quality stuff as last year (despite more miles). However, all felt pretty good during the race (apart from a bit of shin splints in the first few miles). I think the foundation of long hilly trail runs over the summer in Corsham stood me in good stead, and the mileage kept the fitness topped up. Handled the hills much better than previous years. Can't believe I ran at a quicker pace than Standalone 10k. Splits a bit all over the place (and I don't understand 1.03 for the '.1'), but I think the first mile was probably a bit short. Great to see some friends having good races too.

Well done EdJ a great run and a good PB. Did not catch my chip time or position so will have to wait for the official results.

Brilliant run Ed - when we talked previously about the "challenge" and you needing to run sub-1:25 if I ran 1:30 I thought we were both being hypothetical! The first mile was definitely short by about 0.1 mile - even the pacers said so. The cacophony of Garmins amongst the 1:30 group confirmed that this inaccuracy was carried all the way up to mile #10, where it gradually got back on track. Well done again - see you at Halstead?
