Notes & Comments

Cardiff Half Marathon. First proper race since mid June and with limited training since injury, not sure what to expect. Set off fine, probably a bit too quick, but soon settled into even pace. Suffered hot foot pressure in ball of right foot, which was uncomfortable though did not affect pace. Fine till end of mile 8 when insuffcient endurance training in recent months began to tell, and became even more obvious in last 3 miles when pace fell off quite significantly. Would have settled for time around 93 - 95 mins at start so to come in just under 91 was well ahead of expectations, and suggests return to race form within reach with more effort. Great support along route from fellow San Dom members, much appreciated. Pity the new route is not entirely flat and avoids most of the city's landmarks. Organisation this year, very good.
