I was hoping to do better than that, but turned out to be a false hope. Maybe due to a lack of miles lately and a another windy day, I ran out of steam at about 8 miles, but it wasn't even that good up to there really.
The breathing was relaxed, but the legs just didn't want to go any faster. Just about scraped in under 6 minute mile pace at least, but some slow miles in there for me.
Also think I did to much clock watching today, and I should do it more on feel.
(This race is defiantly getting more competitive, only 60th with that time and 3rd M50. Don't know what's happening lately, yet again I am not in the results! Why is it always me?)

Thanks Matt:-) In retrospect, I would say Thursday was a mistake, it was tired legs that were the problem today. No results yet, so no idea about position.
Could have written exactly the same as Matt, a cracking time John and have to agree, you could have left those few seconds per mile you needed on the track on Thursday. It won't be long until you take the HM down again, you are on top form at the mo
It was a tough over at Tiptree today as well, warm and windy is never a good combination. Your training is amazing John, it might just be a tired effort after a long hard season? Still its a great time even though it might not be what you wanted.
listen to your teammates johny ! stilla great time mate see you soon
Still a great run John! The breeze would have definitely had an impact on times, but I think the conditions were still pretty good. You've been doing a lot of very fast training recently so it's hard to excel at both ends of the spectrum. I for one need to work on my endurance base.
Well done - just look at that WAVA...and not many people are special enough to get an 'elite' number!
