Maidenhead Easter 10
Intention: start at 7:30s and wind it up in last few miles
Execution: piss poor. First mile far too quick, got closer to pace but no cigar in miles 2 & 3. Started struggling big time in mile 4, rather early to be struggling.... Miles 4 & part of 5 were very tough but then it eased off a bit and some of 5 and 6 were ok, back on pace. Mile 7 was where it went wrong again, feeling very very dizzy and everything going black round the edges. Got through that but had to stop in mile 8 to get some blood back into my head, thought I was going to keel over. Mile 9 was awful - tight right hand corner, slightly uphill, offroad section (admittedly low fat) and very very warm by now. Thankfully mile 10 was slightly downhill. Pushed really hard (last tiny section over the 10 miles was at 7:11 pace) for sub 1:20 to save face but didn't even get that, 1:20:00 dead. Arse.
