Dublin Marathon.
Well, I really enjoyed that! Absolutely brillliant day. The Dubliners are fab. They loved my "I heart Dublin" running shirt. Weather perfect. Great organisation, marshals, support and atmosphere. Lost the 4:00 balloons at about 15 miles. Stitch at 23-26 miles made my breathing weird and slowed me down a lot. Too much water in the last few miles, I think. But felt so relaxed for the first 20 and an absolutely brilliant overall experience. It's how imagined my first mara to be but had to wait for my 2nd one for the experience. Restored my faith in marathon running. Had to avoid a tv opportunity at the finish line too, some men with a fluffy microphone thing tried to corner me but me being of the shy, retiring type, I wasn't having it at the time, but wish I had now!!
So lose this extra stone in weight that I've acquired, have a rest, and go for sub 4 in a couple of years!
