Kent Coastal Marathon. First time of doing this one & what a lovely marathon. Especially the first half. Ran the first 6.5 miles with Mary who was running the half. Then she told me to go on as her bad knee had started playing up. Reached half way & already felt pretty knackered. Had to really dig in for the whole of the second half & ran when I really felt like walking. Calves were shot by the finish. Quite a killer hill just after 25 miles. This was my third road marathon since the heart attack & my quickest by about 4 minutes . The days of sub 4 's are now way in the past. Felt I put a lot of effort into this marathon. So quite happy just to have got round OK.Have to be honest though & say that 2 marathons in 6 days really is a bit much for me now.

Well done. Excellent time. I'd be chuffed with that.
