Notes & Comments

Chester marathon race - Well what a race I was going well till the 15 mile mark then I got cramp in my Hamstring and had to lie on the floor for fully 5 mins till it eased off. That really was the race over from that point which I am gutted about. I got in with a small group of runners and felt comfortable with the pace they reckoned on a time if we kept it up of about 3:20 which I would have been more than happy with if I could have stayed with them - not saying I would of done.

From the 15 mile point it became a real hard slog the last 3 miles took me about 45 minutes but still happy to get under 4 hrs.

Certainly think if I had done the longer training runs that it may have reduced the chances of me getting Cramp but who know.

Anyway first marathon complete and my biggest monthly mileage to date. Think another marathon will be on the cards - legs are like led tonight.

Cheers
Dave
