Notes & Comments

The Edinburgh Marathon is downhill for the first 6 miles so I spent this time trying not to puke the fried breakfast I had at the B&B. I only fell behind my 8:45 per mile target pace at 17 miles when the weather started getting a bit spicy. All I had to do for the last 6 miles was run at 10 minutes per mile pace to duck under 4 hours. I was proud to be in a far better state than the majority of finishers. I finished 2,552nd out of around 9,500 - my best result ever. I'm hoping to do an autumn marathon in cool conditions, where I think I can manage 3:30.
