Notes & Comments

Arrived at 10am nice and early, picked up my number 170. Got changed and fired up the garmin then time for a short warm up. First mile spent a little time getting into a decent position taking some slower runners up the small incline, went through in 7m37s feeling very comfortable. A short shower during the second mile still going well 7m23s then backwind till just before the 3rd mile 7m22s. Into the strong headwind taking some shelter behind a couple of other runners but felt good so went past 4th mile 7m48s. Then the turn aroundwith the wind behind and feelng strong trying to catch a group in front, mile 5, 7m15s starting to breath harder now my lack of miles lately showing through but keeping pace with the group, mile 6, 7m5s. The only runner to go past me did so in the last .2 which i did in 1m31s. A great race considering my illness and injury layoff. Well pleased :)
