B&Q Eastleigh 10k Report....

All I wanted from this was a good solid run, well I got more... in fact recorded mt 2nd best time for 10K.

Good warm up of 2.5K then off to a very crowded start withmany a fast runner... then the gun goes..

1K - 3:42 ouch thats fast and well ahead of PB pace....
2K - 3:48 settle down nicely and start to work on targets from other clubs (am in 5th from AAC - but then we had 2 of our excellent Jnrs running)
3K - 3:46 ramping it up coz I know the hill is coming..... pass main target now to stay ahead...
4K - 4:03 Spot the hill... a long drag, get to the top, oh no it isnt, round a bend and it carries on....
5K - 3:39 now the down... and time to wwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 18:59 for 5K.
6K - 3:46 Stettle back into pace and pick a few off.
7K - 3:53 into the wind a bit here and hard work
8K - 3:50 start to feel a blister on outside of left foot... grit teeth and move on...
9K - 3:55 dont know what happened here other than wind... trying to push hard but getting nowhere
10K - 3:39 ahhh some speed at last, mainly as was having a right ding dong battle swapped places about 6 times with one lad, knew I had got him with 200m as he just sighed as I went past him again, knew he was beat....

38:05 watch time, not a PB but 2nd best ever time over 10K, so very happy despite hernia, which was totally pain free whilst running. (18:59 / 19:06 split again happy)

5th for club so brought the B team home...

HAPPY will update on positions later.... but was a high class race so will be well down the field.
