Notes & Comments

GSR Half Marathon
The first mile and a half were very crowded, I had planned on 10 minute miles for the first half of the race but found myself over a minute behind that pace when I came off the bridge and so pushed on a bit faster to make it up. I had got back on pace by half way but was feeling it a bit. I had a bit of a niggle in my right calf but it didn't seem to be getting any worse, so I tried to keep my form and the pace.

I managed to keep under 10 minute miles up till the 10th mile when I slowed a little. I rallied in mile 11 with a bit of a spurt and paid for it a bit in mile 12, which was my slowest apart from the jam packed first mile. I caught my breath and pushed on for the last mile, trying to finish strongly.

The last mile stretched on and on and then the bit after the last mile seemed even further. I didn't manage an actual sprint finish but did manage to run through the line. It hurt, though
