Newark Half, first time I have done this and with all my recent training was hoping to PB and possibly go under 1:40. However weather was boiling (apprently it always is) and although started about right pace wise at about mile 5 had stomach ache, then that went and developed blisters (first time worn the new trainers for a long race (have done plenty of bedding in miles) and probably won't wear them again!)at 7-8 miles. Head went and decided to treat as a training run. Didn't really enjoy this race at all and was pleased it was over. Glad mile 12 was mainly downhill as just wanted it to end, think I need to do some more longer runs in my training as although I am doin the mileage not many over 10-11. Roll on the cold crappy damp days lol. T-shirt was decent and I bet it was lovely weather to spectate in :)

You, and everyone else did really well in the heat - Newark would have been hard to get a PB on, it's a good one to do for both the training and distance though. Yes, it was lovely to spectate !!

very well done Mick, you have put in so much training you should be really pleased with time...and in that heat too.
Old Man
It was only ever a training run, but long runs are critical and you need more plus at least once over distance. Looking at your splits though you went off to fast (first three miles) and by then the harm was done!! My last message was first three at 8's then kick on!! You'll train angry now this week and blow Thorney away - on on - don't worry!!
