Notes & Comments
i had a GREAT run. really surprised myself & squeezed out a 1 hour 48 for the glasgow 1/2. really didn't think i had that in me especially given how much speed i thought i had lost & how little training i have done compared to last year. also, i made the mistake of starting at the back of the blue pen which meant i actually had to walk some of the kingston bridge as the poeple ahead were going so slow (apologies if you were one of those people). weather was good but the sun did scare us by actually coming out for a while. no rain & also no wind until the last mile (typical). i tried a new tactic which was to run to my heart rate monitor as opposed to what i thought my body was telling me. plodded along the first 2 miles at approx 150 but managed to get up to 160 by mile 3. after that i coasted along at 166 until the last 3 miles when i stepped it up to 170, 174 & then 179 for the final bit. now feel so much more prepared for Berlin at the end of the month.
