Notes & Comments

Interesting race, undulating/hilly course with legs still sore from the weekend. Had S sat on my shoulder from the start, obviously intending to run off me looking for Silverstone revenge, So I went out hard to try and wear him down over the whole race as I know I'm stronger although he is faster over a short distance

mile 1 - Went out a bit fast- 6:58 at the mile marker, although net downhill

mile 2 - undulating with couple of sharp ups but still net downhill, held close to mile 1 pace, still with Sean and Clare on my shoulder

mile 3 - undulating but net uphill, finishing with a steepish climb. Pulled away from C&S a bit. Passing people now.

mile 4 - net uphill with steepish climb continuing from the previous mile. C pulled ahead on the climb, tried to work off her, but decided it was too much to go with her. S dropped back a few yards and I was determined to hold him off from now on

mile 5 - working on C as a target and pulled her back in, but not quick enough tot catch her. Finshed fast and strong, 25 secs behind C and about 30 ahead of S

7 secs off PB. If I'd realised i would have worked the last climb harder. highest WAVA for 2 years and second highest ever.
