Coniston 14 - pretty windy day and wrapped up in 3 layers because of my chest/throst still being bad. Was very hot to start as the sun shone but was appreciative of the layers once we turned at mile 6. Noted a couple of good splits early on and therefore tried to keep a good pace despite the fact I was intending to take it easy and enjoy. Didn't go mad though, couldn't, as chest and breathing got bad on hills and in the headwind. Had 2 walking breaks of about 30s-1min between 11&12, then ran the rest but could 'feel it' during the last mile as I tried to maintain pace for a 1:55. Very scenic race which was pretty enjoyable. 1-3 was pretty hilly coming out of town and 11-12 was a bit of a toughie but otherwise nicely undulating. Fantastic scenery on the way back to Coniston. Great event
