What happened was: Yabba Dabba Doobly Diddly Do Do Da Da Waaaahooooo !!!!! Sub 9 miles YES!!!
OK race report ... Im crap at this ... Got up at 6am and made poggy with a banana and honey mixed in. Tried a deposit in the big white bank but it wasnt happening. Got car park at 7.55am and walked down to collect number, another visit to the toilets left me slightly lighter. Then back to car to get the joggers off, get rid of fleece and pin number on. Then off to start line. Started in wrong pace group as Id gone back to say hi to lalli, so Eric shot off like a Will O The Wisp melting through the people and creating a 170ft lead in the 1st half K. I managed to reel him back in, being pulled along by a lady in blue. basically she overtook me, I overtook her, she overtook me, I overtook her this was pretty much it for the race. Got stich at 8k just when I was thinking of pushing the last 2k. Struggled to keep the pace going through the stitch, tried everything to get rid of it but in the end decided to run with it as it wernt going anywhere. During this time I lost touch with lady in blue... Damm.
Forgot to press the button on the garmin as I crossed the finish line and then remembered as I was entering the race HQ building, probably 20-30s later, but Ill take the 54:29 WoooHooo! Actually I might even get a quicker official time.
