Notes & Comments
Malvern Half Marathon - shortened to 11.7 miles due to the flooding. It wasn't easy, the first 6 miles were tougher and I think I was daydreaming for a lot of the time. I picked up the pace at mile 9 and started to pick up places. Everyone had told me about the last section being uphill and really tough but as we rounded the corner into Poolbrook Rd I could see all the MJs in front and proceeded to run them down - caught Chris B, Eric B, Jules, Alison, Sam C + others at the common. Saw Julie C in the distance and upped the pace again, caught her with 0.5 mile to go, she sped up to stay with me but I found another gear. I'm sure that it's all in our heads, all those people must have had enough left - they are all faster and have far more experience. I'd never run the distance and only done 10m 3x in the past. Must remember that next time I'm overtaken.
