Notes & Comments

Exeter Harriers Open 800m. I thought I might have recovered enough from Sunday to run a season-best - how wrong was I! Despite more of my cold symptoms going I was not feeling 100% and just felt exhausted really. I only did one stride (didn't have enough time for more) and it was pretty cold. I led from the start until about 200m in when a young lad (I think on his first race) came flying past me. He went through 400m in 64 (my target) while I went through in about 66 and started to fade badly. My whole body just felt tired and my breathing was very heavy. I tried to pick it up a little with 200m to go but crossed the line in 2.17.29 - a lifetime worst!
