Yeovil Games 800m. After feeling really groggy during my warm-up, I did 2 strides (feeling a little breathless), walked over to the start from the call-up tend (at the 200m mark), and then 2 minutes later we were off. I went out quite strong, but steady, I controlled the pace well for the first 200m or so and slotted myself behind a fellow TBAC runner (I was by far the oldest competitor in the race!), and went through the bell in 64 something (nice). But I quickly found myself hitting a lactic wall and somewhere between 200 and 150m to go I started to get into server oxygen debt and just held on for life to get to the finish - my legs were very wobbly in the last 100m. I collapsed on the floor after and felt very sick (like I was going to vomit) for about 230 minutes after. The official time was 2.13.2, so my second fastest of the season which I'm happy with - except I feel like I could have broken 2.13 if I had known how close I was! I was 4th out of 5.
