Mad dogs and Englishmen.

It was supposed to be the same route that Ian and I walked last weekend but I got mis-directed:

once by a stick into the ground, and
once in the woods near 5km

On the latter point, Ian and I had found the entrance to the woods totally blocked, so we went around by road. Today, some nice person had cleared that away and left a well-marked path into the woods. Not well-marked enough, it seems, because i found out (after dashing myself into the ground to perform the standard 'how hard is this ploughed field' test) that I was well off course. Up a hill, no less. Lots of extra exercise. Lots of extra swearing.

Overall, the course is OK: some good views (avoid: keep your eyes on the ground ahead of you in case there are sticks) and a few lumpy bits but nothing too scary.

Today it was really too hot to have been trying to run in the middle of the day.
