Notes & Comments

*Manchester Tree-Athlon Race* Crunchy Nut cereal for breakfast, 2 glasses of water; pre race, bite of an energy bar and some sips of lucozade; first non lone race; walked to race (2km); participated in mass warm-up; very cold all morning, but sun came out and it became very warm as race started; 'bombed it' as race began on downhill slope; gasping before 1km, had to control self as it got uphill at 1.5km; some flatness and downhill at 3km; tough undulations with sun in face (no sunglasses); regained energy for last 500m to sprint; gasping and coughing at the end, but regained composure fast; greeted others as they crossed, felt fine; post-race, bananas and water; walked 2km home. Post race state, slight aches in feet, plantar fasciitis foot achey, some slight aches in legs but overall, very well. Some intermittent chesty coughing for the rest of the day, but water helped. PB'ed :) Tough race but rose to the challenge, very pleased :)
