Pulled out the scrappy looking dwarf hebe (left the heuchera to take its chances) and planted up the front part of the raised bed with the boring daffodils and sweet William, adding lots of compost and water. Tipped the bag of ericaceous compost into the back part of the raised bed, might get some pieris to keep the bloobs company (got about five fruits off the lazy buggers this year, they're on a final warning). Bit of weeding.

Bloobs? ~scratches head~ oh, right I have two bushes: one has failed to produce be for a second year, the other was ok - except all the fruit disappeared overnight. My sweet william (aka stinking Billy) is a thug and I need tae set aboot it.
I'll be pleased if the sweet William flowers again in the spring. Never had much success with it before. My gran used to call it stinking Willy. As opposed to sticky Willy, of which I have a huge clump.
