Never realistically ready to complete this - in terms of training or being rested after a stupid couple of weeks/months at work. But nothing ventured. Got cold and wet overnight with strong headwind and persistent rain, trashed my legs trudging through miles and miles of soft sand, and was ultimately defeated by the thought of trudging 50 miles down the dead straight Peddars Way - a route I've already done before - with soaking wet feet. Blog to follow.

Well done
Looking forward to the blog - when you've had some sleep!
Certainly an interesting format, but not so much fun in storm Evert (or whatever it was called) and the sand sounds horrible!
Fantastic achievement, well done - no disgrace at all at not getting to the end.
Impressive performance!
Any 76-mile run is a massive achievement in my book. I do hope that one day work will be more conducive to training for one of your challenges... or that you decide you've had enough of work and need to dedicate more of your time to your masochistic tendencies.
