Steady paced run from along main road to Pontamman, then along cycleway to Lwr. Brynaman, then home along main road; felt fine nand fluent in first half, but in last 5 miles I had severe back pain (an old trouble) and had to pause a few times for exercises, but I finished!

Ha! That's your half-marathon! Good speed, especially over that distance. Hope the back pain has resolved itself.

Well done on getting under 2:30. That's a great time for that distance, especially with a few pauses. I hope your back feels better now you've completed the run.
steve45
well completed Evangel. Now...are you going further?!!
Evangel
Ebb, I cheated, because I stopped the Garmin whenever I stopped, so the above is the running time only!

Thanks Steve. No I am not intending going further. I wanted to prove to myself that I could still do it. My orthopaedic history dictates that I concentrate on shorter distances.

What a fabulous run Ev great pace well done 👏
Evangel
Thanks GG, but as I've said above, it was not continuous, and in a race situation, it may have been 5 or 10 minutes longer, due to the stops.
Ebb
I bet you overestimate the length of the stops Evangel so you probably still around the 2:30 mark.
I can never be bothered stopping my watch and even on runs where I've stood waiting for friends, stopped to eat snacks and had a toilet stop it's not that much difference between running and elapsed time.

Still a cracking effort Ev
