Betteshanger Lucky Dip Marathon: 04:07:28 Pos: 5/51
First race back after 5 months out due to Covid restrictions. It went better than I could have expected really, but was by no means a positive.
I spent the last 20 miles of this race battling with terrible back problems that got progressively worse and tbh destroyed my race and any chance I had of running a decent time.
The first 2 laps were easy and I was gliding. Then at 6 miles my back had a jolt coming down a hill and by half way I was struggling. I think it was at the end of lap 4 I had to have a stretch and it was as painful as anything.
I conclude that I now need some proper help with this back otherwise I am going to struggle to ever race properly again and also struggle to get the distance back up to the proper ultras that I want to hit next.
