Dorney Lake 6h challenge.
Although I had 37sec to start another lap, I declined the timekeeper's kind offer ;-) Steady run, steady drizzle/rain. A few gastric issues but coped OK, kept drinking + eating (and visiting the portaloos). All this running hasn't done much for my plantar fascitis though. (Ry was trying to run a qualifying time for the Centurion track 100, looks like he's done it!) HR138(148)

Yep, the course is 10 laps for a marathon, 5 laps for a half. Cheers!

The marathon was largely dominated by old giffers with idiosyncratic running styles wearing 100-marathon-club shirts who had nothing better to do on a damp Thursday :-)

Nearly all their events are midweek, I guess the venues are cheaper to hire then

I think maybe a few more than that with the marathon and ultra combined. I really like these little events, the Cricklade half and the Otmoor Challenge are others. If you're not finished in good time, the timekeeper's gone home and you'll miss out on a cup of weak tea and a mars bar. They were all like this when I was a teenager ;-)
