Maidenhead Half Marathon (24th)

This was going to be an A race with the goal of sub-75 when I entered the race, but then the opportunity to go to a conference in Denver came up which meant only landing back in the UK yesterday afternoon, so I changed this to a B race and a "sub-77 would be nice" goal.

Started off at a sub-77 pace to see how I'd get on and kept a good pace for about 6k when I started to feel a little uneasy that the pace was a bit too quick and probably unsustainable so I backed off ever-so-slightly. Dropped in behind a group of chaps from Serpentine AC and ticked over the k's at a much more comfortable pace. Whilst sub-77 wasn't on the cards anymore, sub-78 was definitely, and maybe close to 77 with a big push at the end.

Ended up finishing strong in an official time of 1:17:20, only 18s slower than my PB. Quite chuffed with this performance given I was slightly jetlagged.
