Serious question: is that route one for you?
It's not the most direct, but on a road bike, yes, kinda. Actual route one involves a right turn off the Chelmer Road. And it's slightly more direct, and slightly less safe, to turn directly into Kingston Crescent rather than via St Margaret's Road.
Brompton route one involves cycle paths and kiss gates which are best avoided on a road bike.
So not route one, but my 'normal' route.
